Stable Cast Iron Wok Support Ring

Constructed from dense, vibration-dampening cast iron, this support ring has an outer diameter of 18 cm, inner clearance of 12 cm, and stands 3.5 cm high. It weighs 1.2 kg—substantially heavier than typical mild steel alternatives—to ensure immovable placement on both ceramic-topped and traditional metal-framed gas hobs. The raw iron finish is intended for seasoning like a wok or skillet. Its primary function is mechanical: to lift and cradle small-diameter cookware above direct flame contact, enabling safer handling and more predictable heat transfer. This elevation reduces flare-ups from oil splatter hitting burner ports and allows visual monitoring of flame behaviour beneath the pan. Beyond wok cooking, it supports everyday tasks including warming baby bottles, reheating leftovers in small containers, or slow-cooking compotes in narrow-bottomed preserving pans—proving useful across diverse UK household routines, from student flats to multi-generational homes.
