Solid Cedar Nest Box With Removable Base

This nest box is hand-carved from a single block of sustainably sourced cedar wood, measuring 26 x 14 x 11 cm and weighing only 250g — compact enough for small gardens yet roomy inside. The entrance aperture is positioned at optimal height and size for small passerines, with smooth carved edges to prevent injury. The entire base detaches cleanly for full interior access — enabling removal of old nesting material and disinfection without tools. Its flat rear profile supports firm attachment to fence posts or walls, while the built-in wire hanger offers immediate overhead suspension. As an untreated wood product, it will gradually mellow to a soft grey hue when exposed to UK weather — a sign of natural longevity. Every unit bears the maker’s signature and date as proof of individual craftsmanship.
