Saltwater-Ready Stainless Oarlock Socket

Dimensions: Designed for direct oar-shaft mounting with self-centring clamp geometry; Weight: Precision-balanced at 180–190 g to avoid oar tip heaviness; Material: Fully passivated stainless steel — surface-treated to maximise chromium oxide layer formation; Finish: Mirror polish applied using non-abrasive electrochemical process — retains micro-hardness and corrosion barrier integrity. Clamp mechanism features dual-stage adjustment: initial coarse grip followed by fine-tuned torque retention. Locking plate engages with positive rotational feedback — audible ‘click’ confirms secure positioning. Release is deliberately decoupled from tightening direction to prevent misoperation. Field-tested on UK coastal patrol tenders, Dutch Wadden Sea tour boats, and Greek island ferry support craft. Increasingly specified by marine outfitters for modular oar systems used in adaptive rowing programmes and youth sailing initiatives.
