This converter cable implements USB-to-TTL serial translation using the PL2303HX IC. Four distinct wires provide functional separation: black for ground (GND), green for transmit data (TXD), white for receive data (RXD), and red for selectable power output (VCC). A physical jumper on the adapter board determines whether VCC supplies 3.3 V or 5.0 V — users must remove the USB plug entirely before modifying this setting to protect both host and target devices. It supports basic UART communication without flow control or auxiliary signals, making it suitable for firmware uploads, serial console access, and sensor data streaming.
