From the manufacturer: The Standard PanaVise is designed for use with small projects requiring a precise and secure hold. The vise is PanaVise's original small work holding tool, and features ti/lt adjustability of up to 90 degrees along with 360 degree turns and rotations. The vise head includes interchangeable, smooth insulated nylon jaws for secure holding power and are also heat tolerant. The detachable head and base are compatible with other optional vise components. The Standard PanaVise is suited for use with hobbies, electronics, small home repairs, industrial uses, and standard work bench applications. The vise is designed around a vise head assembly that's connected to a die cast zinc base by PanaVise's patented ball joint clamp system, known as a "split-ball" that allows you to ti/lt, Turn and Rotate your work. The split-ball system not only holds items within the vise head securely in position, but also allows the maneuvering of them along three separate planes. The complete range of mobility possible with the Standard PanaVise is 90 degree ti/lt , along with an angled rotation or level turn range of 360 degrees. This range of mobility allows the user to rearrange items being worked on into virtually any position. This limits the need to adjust the overall position of the vise or the item within the vise. The Original Work Holding Tool: The Standard PanaVise is a work-holding tool for hobbies, electronics and small repairs, that consists of a standard base and a standard vise head. The standard base creates a stable and reliable working platform that can be used with an optional base mount accessories. The vise head utilizes smooth, interchangeable nylon jaws that measure 2-1/2" (63.5 mm) by 1/2" tall (12.6 mm). The jaws secure small jobs without scratching your work while also offering excellent electrical insulation and strong holding power. The overall vise opening width is 2-1/4" (57.1 mm) and depth of 1-3/8" (35 mm). Exposure to heat sources is common in vise applications, and the vise jaws have a continuous heat tolerance to 200 degrees F (93 degrees C) and an intermittent heat tolerance to 300 degrees F (149 degrees C). Jaws: The vise head utilizes smooth, interchangeable nylon jaws that hold objects securely without scratching. Interchangeable jaws allow for the perfect setup. Jaw Adjustment Handle: Single jaw control knob allows for precise, controlled, and a firm hold on all objects. The Single Knob "Split-Ball": Once an item is secured within the head, the split-ball adjustment system allows for maneuvering along three separate planes.
