2-way memory function: nitinol spring extends when heated to 50°C (122°F) and contracts when cooled to room temperature or below. 0.7 mm wire; 9 mm spring diameter; 16 mm compressed length when cold; 30 mm extended length when hot. This two-way nitinol spring exerts force in both directions depending on temperature — it extends when heated to 50°C or higher, and contracts when cooled below 30°C. The extension force is approximately double the contraction force. Uncut lengths up to 55 mm (cold) are available.
