NE555 Signal Generator Module This compact NE555 module delivers a dependable square wave signal for a range of electronics projects, including driving stepping motors. Built around the N5555 timer chip, it offers flexible frequency and duty cycle adjustment, making it a practical tool for testing, prototyping, and educational use. Adjustable Frequency and Output The module provides four selectable frequency ranges: 1Hz to 50Hz, 50Hz to 1kHz, 1kHz to 10kHz, and 10kHz to 200kHz. This allows you to match the output to your specific application, from slow timing pulses to faster signal generation. The duty cycle is also adjustable, giving you control over the waveform shape. Output Specifications The output amplitude varies with the input supply voltage. With a 5V DC input, the output amplitude is approximately 4.2V V-PP, while a 12V DC input produces an amplitude of around 11.4V V-PP. The maximum output current is approximately 15mA at 5V and 35mA at 12V, sufficient for driving many logic circuits and small loads. Visual Status Indication An integrated LED provides a clear visual indication of the output state. The LED lights up when the output is low and switches off when it is high. At low frequencies, the LED will visibly flash, offering a simple way to monitor the signal in real time. Wide Input Compatibility The module accepts a DC input voltage from 5V to 15V, offering flexibility when integrating into existing systems. This wide input range ensures the module can be powered from a variety of common supplies, making it a versatile addition to your workbench.
