Set of two KM10 lock nuts built to match SKF’s published engineering data: M50×1.5 thread, 70 mm outer diameter (d3), 11 mm height (B), 61 mm bore (d1), 6 mm slot width (b), and 2.5 mm slot depth (h). Made from quenched and tempered steel for consistent hardness and dimensional stability after repeated thermal or mechanical cycling. Each nut incorporates four identical radial slots positioned at 90° intervals — enabling predictable reaction force paths during tightening and offering redundancy if one slot becomes slightly damaged during field use. Designed exclusively for keyed-shaft or keyed-sleeve mounting, ensuring zero reliance on thread friction for retention. Used extensively in bearing mounting on tapered shaft seats, adapter sleeves and withdrawal sleeves. Also applied in non-bearing roles — such as fixing cast iron gear blanks prior to hobbing, or anchoring idler pulley brackets in modular conveyor builds serving UK e-commerce fulfilment centres.
