Flip-Down 2D Clip-On For Passive 3D TVs

Measuring 14.5 × 5.5 × 2.5 cm and weighing only 28 g, these clip-on 2D glasses use rigid yet flexible plastic arms and precisely angled polarising lenses. The flip-down action fully occludes the viewer’s line of sight to the TV’s polarised 3D signal, restoring the underlying 2D image — a method validated across LG, Philips, and early Samsung passive 3D models. The clip mechanism exerts uniform pressure across temple contact points, minimising discomfort during extended wear. No batteries, no calibration, no Bluetooth — operation depends entirely on user-initiated lens positioning. Not compatible with active shutter, DLP-link, or VR-based 3D platforms.
