Folate remains important at a later stage of pregnancy, as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissues, including the formation of the placenta. The placenta provides the baby with all nutrients. Therefore, care must be taken to ensure an adequate folate intake throughout pregnancy. In addition to folates and DHA, Femibion 2 contains other carefully selected ingredients: 10 vitamins, including vitamin D, iodine, and also iron, selenium, magnesium, zinc and lutein. Femibion 2 includes in an additional capsule, lutein and the omega-3 fatty acid DHA. Lutein gives the capsule its characteristic color.
