Compact 32Bit Servo Stepper Controller

The MKS SERVO42C V1.0 is a miniature (39 × 35.8 mm) 32-bit servo controller based on the Cortex-M0+ ARM core. It accepts 7–28 V DC input and offers fully adjustable current output (0–3000 mA). Equipped with a 14-bit magnetic encoder, it delivers 0.08° angular resolution and enables true closed-loop control across position, speed and torque domains — enabling reliable operation at up to 1000 RPM without step loss. Its field-oriented control architecture ensures low-noise, low-vibration and thermally efficient performance. Four half-bridge driver circuits with eight MOSFETs maximise power delivery efficiency. Subdivision can be set anywhere from 1 to 256, including odd numbers like 11. Position and velocity updates occur at 10 kHz; torque updates at 20 kHz. Communication is handled through a USART interface compatible with standard USB-to-serial adapters, supporting live parameter read/write and diagnostics. Optimised for 0.9° and 1.8° stepper motors, it contributes to stable high-speed printing (150–180 mm/s) and simplified hardware integration.
