Beech Handle Cast Iron Press

A traditional-style kitchen press combining time-tested materials: a solid cast iron pressing plate with parallel ridges, a turned beech wood handle, and two fixed black metal support struts. The cast iron body delivers substantial downward force through its inherent density, while the wooden handle allows confident one-handed operation. All components are permanently joined — no screws, bolts or moving parts to loosen or fail over time. The ridges run lengthwise across the base, optimised for pressing elongated cuts like steaks or schnitzel, while the overall round profile ensures compatibility with circular cookware such as skillets and grill pans. The beech wood is finished with food-safe oil, enhancing grain visibility and providing gentle friction against palms. Designed for daily use in compact UK kitchens, it stores easily beside the stove or hangs from a hook. Ideal for pressing bacon to reduce splatter, flattening pancake batter for crêpes, or holding down cheese-topped dishes during broiling — delivering professional-level control in a simple, honest tool.
