Atwood-Compatible Magnesium Anode Rod Set 2 Pack

Set of two replacement magnesium anode rods, each measuring 4.5 inches (115 mm) long and 0.5 inch (13 mm) in diameter, with 1/2-inch NPT threading. Manufactured using magnesium alloy bonded to a steel support core, combining high electrochemical reactivity with physical durability. Designed for direct fit into Atwood RV water heaters (e.g., model 0718). The rods operate by galvanic coupling: as the most active metal in the system, magnesium corrodes first, drawing iron, copper, sulphates and other aggressive ions out of solution and away from the tank’s inner surface. This slows pitting, scaling and rust formation inside the tank. Includes one roll of PTFE tape to assist in achieving a watertight seal during reinstallation. Visual appearance may vary slightly across production batches — a normal characteristic of magnesium alloy casting and surface oxidation, with zero effect on protective function.
