500V Audio Electrolytic Double Capacitor

These are high-voltage audio-grade electrolytic capacitors designed for amplifier applications. Available in multiple capacitance configurations: 100+100μF, 50+50μF, and 32+32μF — all rated at 500V DC working voltage. Each unit is a dual-section (double) capacitor housed in a single can, with common negative or independent terminals depending on model variant. Physical dimensions and weight vary slightly by capacity; please allow ±1–3 mm tolerance due to manual measurement. The capacitors are constructed using standard industrial-grade electrolyte and aluminium foil, suitable for vintage and modern tube/solid-state amplifier builds. For long-idle units (stored 2–3 months), a controlled voltage ramp-up (aging/activation) process is required before full-rated use to stabilise oxide layer and minimise leakage current. Recommended activation uses a series 100kΩ 5W current-limiting resistor while gradually increasing voltage in 20V steps every 4–5 minutes until reaching 500V. Under normal operating conditions at rated voltage and room temperature, expected leakage current ranges from 0.025 to 0.05 mA per microfarad.
