12.5Inch Wool Felt Bass Mallets

These bass mallets are precisely 12.5 inches long, combining a stainless steel shaft with a densely packed wool felt head. The handle is smooth yet textured for enhanced control, and the entire unit is built for stability and longevity. Total weight per mallet is approximately 200g, supporting confident articulation and reduced hand strain during prolonged use. Constructed from stainless steel and natural wool felt only — no plastics, adhesives, or composite fillers. The wool felt head produces a warm, full-bodied tone with gentle attack characteristics, making it suitable for both melodic bass D work and rhythmic support roles. Stainless steel ensures zero flex under pressure and eliminates concerns about moisture absorption or seasonal swelling seen in wood-core alternatives. Used widely in UK school music departments and amateur wind bands, these mallets meet the practical demands of classroom teaching, outdoor parade performances, and indoor concert rehearsals — where durability, consistency, and ease of replacement matter most.
