This 3.18 cm (1.25 inch) UHC filter uses multi-layer dielectric coatings on optical glass substrates, mounted in a rigid aluminium cell conforming to British Standard Whitworth (BSW) threading. It enhances contrast by transmitting only the primary nebular emission lines (O-III, H-beta, H-alpha) while attenuating ambient light pollution across the visible spectrum — particularly effective under the mixed LED and residual sodium lighting conditions found across UK urban and suburban areas. Its compact form factor allows seamless integration into existing 1.25-inch accessory trains, whether used with Plössl eyepieces, zooms, or imaging nosepieces.
